Founder of Guthrie Copywriting

Guthrie Copywriting was founded in 2019 with a focus on creating quality, creative copy for businesses in the pet industry.

A thorough researcher, I provide science-based information to educate pet owners on nutrition, behavior, health, products and basic care.

The goal of Guthrie Copywriting is to help businesses in the pet industry improve the relationships between staff and customers, and customers and their pets.

For 12 years I have been writing about pets and pet products. Known as a creative, concise writer, I’m skilled at converting complex information into an understandable, friendly format for broader audience engagement.

For the past twelve years, I have worked at a large PNW pet retailer overseeing the Learning & Development team. I’m passionate about researching trends and scientific information surrounding dog and cat health, nutrition, behavior, and products.

While I’m passionate about animals, I’m also intent on empowering employees. My work facilitated an inclusive company culture and increased employee retention by 27% in the first year of the initiative.

In 2018 I was the Project Manager for a team designing a unique leadership program. One of three facilitators, the curriculum focused on building better leaders within the company. This program continues to improve the company’s management culture.

My employee training program is recognized as innovative and thorough. It leads the way for improved education for staff. That work was mentioned in the New York Times, Harvard Business Review, Pet Industry Magazine, and many local pet retailer award articles.

In June of 2019, I retired as L&D Manager to pursue my love for writing as a freelance copywriter. Still following my passion for animals, I currently work with businesses in the pet industry to promote their products and services through articles, website content, newsletters, and blogs.

When not writing, I spend time traveling with my husband, three dogs, and two cats around the US in our RV. When not traveling, I love gardening, home projects and spending time with our seven grandchildren.
